Equifax Data Breach: What You Need To Know

Last week, the well-known credit reporting agency, Equifax, announced a data breach affecting as many as 143 million people between May and July 2017. Personal information at risk includes names, social security numbers, birth dates, addresses and driver’s license numbers and in some cases credit card account numbers.  Equifax has offered to help those who are victims of this data breach but this assistance may come with strings attached, and you may be giving up some of your rights to sue.

JDSA Heads to the Washington State Supreme Court

On September 14, JDSA will head to the Washington State Supreme Court to defend Wenatchee-based Dovex Fruit Company in a putative class action lawsuit.  At the heart of the case is whether piece-rates paid to agricultural workers cover non-picking tasks such as moving equipment and moving between orchard rows and blocks.  The decision in this case will dramatically impact the agricultural industry as a whole for many years to come.
