Department of Labor's Overtime Rule Blocked Nationwide
A federal judge in Texas issued a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking a federal overtime rule that would have more than doubled the minimum salary needed to qualify for a white collar exemption from overtime pay. The rule was scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2016. Until further order of the Texas court, the minimum salary threshold for purposes of the white collar exemptions under federal law remains $455/week ($23,660 annually).
