The Legacy Continues

On Behalf of | Jan 8, 2018 | Firm News

On Friday, January 5, 2018, Kristin Ferrera was sworn in as a Chelan County Superior Court Judge, replacing Superior Court Judge Alicia Nakata.   Kristin’s appointment continues the legacy of successful JDSA attorneys who have been elevated to judgeships.  Judge T.W. “Chip” Small was appointed to the court in 1991, and U.S. Federal District Court Judge Stanley Bastian was the firm’s managing partner before joining the federal bench in 2014.

Kristin has been an attorney at JDSA for almost 10 years and spent 4 years as a partner of the firm.  Prior to joining JDSA, she served as a law clerk with the Tulalip Tribes Office of the Reservation Attorney.  While Kristin’s practice focused on complex civil litigation and employment law, she also had broad experience assisting clients in disputes involving employment discrimination and wrongful termination, Indian law, civil rights, and corporate litigation.  Her knowledge and experience in many different areas of law is a testament to her being appointed to her new position.

Congratulations, Kristin.  We wish you the best of luck in your new role!

“Kristin has broad experience in employment, family and Indian law, immigration, agriculture and civil rights. I am encouraged by her innovative ideas on how to better administer justice. She has an in-depth understanding of the issues that impact Central Washington and demonstrates a real commitment to community service.”
