Litigation Paralegal

Job Description

Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Status: Full time – Non-Exempt
Location: In-person position with mid-size law firm
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Date: 06/03/2026

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly-skilled, seasoned Litigation Paralegal with the necessary experience to function as a key component in the delivery of superior client service to our general litigation practice group. This person will support an assigned group of attorneys, and will be a self-starter that can hit the ground running, assist attorneys with managing complex caseloads, interact with clients frequently, and contribute meaningfully to the team.

Our general litigation practice includes representation in the following areas:

  • Contract disputes
  • Construction law
  • Employment-related disputes
  • Domestic relations
  • Business and corporate transactions
  • Real estate matters
  • Trusts and estates disputes
  • Personal injury

Our litigation attorneys predominantly practice in state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout Washington.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence;
  2. Collect and organize exhibits for filing;
  3. Prepare and file motions, legal memoranda, and exhibits in various courts and agencies throughout Washington, among other jurisdictions as necessary;
  4. Professionally engage with court, administrative agency, or other third-party staff regarding scheduling hearings, trial, discovery, and depositions;
  5. Coordinate filings, communications and scheduling with city, county, state and federal courts or agencies as needed, and also with opposing counsel and expert witnesses, as needed;
  6. Prepare binders for hearings, trial, client meetings, and depositions;
  7. Review and retrieve court dockets;
  8. Manage deadlines with attorneys, including calendaring, setting follow-up reminders, and managing tasks in Microsoft Outlook;
  9. Field client phone calls as needed, and engage regularly with clients;
  10. Review and summarize records, including medical records, depositions, and discovery responses;
  11. Provide administrative support for assigned attorneys, internally coordinating with assigned attorneys regarding case-related activities and work product;
  12. Work effectively with attorneys and other staff to provide a superior experience to all clients;
  13. Ensure that all work product is finalized in a manner that reflects quality, timeliness, and professionalism;
  14. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable court rules and ensure that appropriate rules are followed in each filing;
  15. Work collaboratively with all members of your team and across teams to create an environment that fosters trust, accountability, and respect.

Primary Relationships: This person will:

  • Work closely with attorneys, other paralegals, and other staff;
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis;
  • Interact regularly with other support and administrative staff throughout the firm; and
  • Communicate with court clerks and other officials, legal service vendors, and third parties including opposing counsel and their staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years previous paralegal experience in a legal office environment, with an emphasis in litigation;
  • Strong knowledge of rules of civil procedure and litigation support;
  • Proficiency in case management software (such as Perfect Law or similar legal documentation systems), Microsoft Office, and Adobe;
  • Familiarity with legal databases, although Westlaw is preferred;
  • Excellent writing, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills;
  • High attention to detail, and the ability to set and manage goals, timelines and priorities, follow up on tasks, and perform on deadline, often under time constraints and other stressors;
  • Experience with court filings is required; experience with Washington state and federal court filings is preferred;
  • Ability to work and problem-solve independently and apply logic to complex situations;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels, both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ease with both telephone and in-person contacts;
  • Teamwork orientation; and
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is a plus.

Required Education and/or Certifications:

  • Associate Degrees or some college; and
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.

Attorney – Litigation

We are currently seeking a General Litigation Attorney with 1-3 years’ experience to join our team. Additional experience is also welcome.

The attorney will work closely with other JDSA attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, administrative staff, clients, and other professionals as needed.

Our general litigation practice includes representation in one or more of the following areas:

  • Contract disputes
  • Construction law
  • Employment-related disputes
  • Domestic relations
  • Business and corporate transactions
  • Real estate matters
  • Trusts and estates disputes
  • Personal injury

Our litigation attorneys practice in the state and federal courts throughout Washington and Oregon.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for this position will likely have 1 to 3 years’ experience in a law firm setting with general litigation experience. Strong academic transcript, including skills in legal research, writing, and oral argumentation, are preferred. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Washington.

Benefits/Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $80,000 and $120,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, skills, and experience.

Attorney – Business Law / Corporate / Transactions

We are currently seeking an Attorney with a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience to join our team. Additional experience is also welcome.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for this position will likely have a minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in a law firm setting with business/corporate/transactions experience. Additional tax experience or training (CPA, LLM) is highly valued. Must have excellent client and case management skills and be licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $103,500-$170,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, skills and experience.
